CLEVELAND — It’s not too late in the year for winter weather in Northeast Ohio.

Due to a mix of snow and rain, the Guardians and White Sox postponed their series opener on Monday and rescheduled it as a split doubleheader on Tuesday, July 12. The matinee will take place at 1:10 p.m. ET, with the nightcap starting at 7:10 p.m. Gates for each game will open 70 minutes before first pitch.

Fans holding tickets to Monday’s contest can use the same ticket to enter the 1:10 p.m. game on July 12 (this does not grant access to the 7:10 p.m. game). For ticketholders who cannot attend the makeup game, exchanges can be made for one of six different game options. Those exchanges can begin on Monday at 3 p.m. and must be made by June 28 at 5 p.m. online at CLEGuardians.com/mytickets. If fans encounter any issues, they can call 216-420-HITS.

The postponement won’t affect Cleveland’s pitching plans too much, aside from each starter now getting an extra day of rest. Shane Bieber, who was slated to start on Monday, will now toe the rubber against the White Sox on Tuesday. Triston McKenzie and Zach Plesac will round out the series on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, pushing Cal Quantrill to the series opener at Yankee Stadium on Friday night.
